Frank Haddock Signs with Methodist University

In a joyful celebration held in the South Lenoir High School auditorium, senior defensive back Frank Haddock made his collegiate dreams a reality by signing a letter of intent to play football at Methodist University. The event was notably well-attended, highlighting the community's strong support for this standout athlete.

Frank Haddock has been a key figure in the Blue Devils' defense, known for his sharp instincts and formidable presence on the field. Reflecting on his journey, Frank credits much of his development to the guidance of Head Coach Will Harrell, who took the helm three years ago. "Coach Harrell taught me a lot of things I didn’t know before he got there. He got us in the weight room and inspired me to get better as a football player," said Frank. Under Harrell's mentorship, Frank transformed from a reserved player into a vocal leader and a powerhouse in both the weight room and on the field.

This transformation was echoed by Coach Harrell, who praised Frank's remarkable progress. "He went from being shy to being great in the weight room and being lights out on defense," Harrell shared. "This year, he played both sides of the ball, and it’s almost unbelievable to think he’s signing this year compared to where he came from."

Frank also acknowledges the significant influence of his teammates—Jed, Luke, and Wyatt—who have been instrumental in his growth. The camaraderie and collective efforts of this group have forged a strong bond that propelled each of them to strive for excellence.

Beyond the field, Frank draws inspiration from his brother, Johnathan Haddock, a former standout for the Blue Devils. Their daily interactions via FaceTime have kept Frank focused and motivated. When asked who he'd like to give a special shout-out to, Frank didn't hesitate to mention his parents, Wayne and Arlecia Haddock. His father expressed pride in Frank's dedication: "He deserved it, he put in the work." Meanwhile, his mother shared her excitement and pride in Frank's academic and athletic commitments, "He has always been into academics and put in a lot of work at a young age."

Frank's signing day was not just a personal triumph but a communal celebration of his hard work, determination, and the support system that has backed him every step of the way. As he prepares to take his talents to Methodist University, Frank leaves behind a legacy at South Lenoir that will undoubtedly inspire future generations.
