South Lenoir’s seven-game winning streak came to an end Tuesday as East Duplin held off the Blue Devils 7-5 in a key conference matchup.
Trailing by one run in the bottom of the seventh after surrendering an eight-run inning, North Lenoir responded with five runs of its own, capped by Lexi Stalnaker’s walk-off double to secure a 19-18 win over SouthWest Edgecombe.
Frink Middle School picked up a 3-1 victory over Woodington on Tuesday, using a strong first half and timely second-half scoring to stay unbeaten in conference play.
