GCMS Boys Roll Past Bethel, Improve to 3-1
Information submitted by HC Steven Christie
The GCMS boys picked up another dominant conference win on Monday night, defeating Bethel School 53–21. According to Coach Steven Christie, Josiah Joyner led the way with 13 points, while Kam Jones added 6, and all 15 players on the roster scored in the victory.
GCMS is now 3–1 overall and 3–0 in conference play, and Christie said the team is “coming along great and learning to play together.” All three conference wins have been by more than 20 points, giving every player at least a quarter of playing time. Christie credited the early work of the team’s 7–8 man rotation for building leads and maintaining them long enough to get the full roster involved.
Next up is a trip to Chicod Middle School, a program Christie noted is “very disciplined and fundamentally sound.”
He also shared that Nathan Ross is close to being cleared to play, adding another experienced and skilled piece that will make GCMS “even more dangerous” moving forward.
