Historic Grainger Stadium to Host Free Carolina Hurricanes Watch Party for Stanley Cup Final Game 6
KINSTON — Hockey fans across Eastern North Carolina will have a chance to cheer on the Carolina Hurricanes together Sunday night as Historic Grainger Stadium hosts a free watch party for Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final.
The watch party is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. following the Down East Bird Dawgs' home game against the Sussex County Miners. Fans will be able to watch the Hurricanes' pivotal matchup on the stadium's video board as Carolina looks to move one step closer to a Stanley Cup championship.
Admission to the event is free.
Concessions will remain available throughout the watch party, though outside food and drinks will not be permitted inside the stadium.
The Hurricanes enter the weekend with the series tied 2-2 against the Vegas Golden Knights, making both Game 5 and Sunday's Game 6 critical contests in the race for hockey's biggest prize.
The event gives local sports fans a unique opportunity to gather at one of Eastern North Carolina's most historic venues and support the state's NHL franchise in a postseason atmosphere.
Fans attending Sunday's Bird Dawgs game are encouraged to stay after the final out for the watch party, while those only attending the Hurricanes event can arrive prior to the 8 p.m. start time.
With the Stanley Cup on the line and the series deadlocked, Historic Grainger Stadium is expected to provide an energetic setting for Hurricanes supporters hoping to watch Carolina take control of the championship series.
