UPDATE: Kinston/Lenoir County 10U Softball Two Wins from Dixie Youth State Title, World Series Berth

LUMBERTON — The Kinston/Lenoir County Recreation All-Star softball team is just two wins away from claiming the 2025 Dixie Youth Angels State Championship — and earning a trip to the Dixie Softball World Series in Ruston, Louisiana.

KLC opened the tournament with a 5-1 victory over Pembroke on Saturday. Allena Ransom pitched all five innings and drove in two runs, while Avery Bryant added an RBI to help secure the win.

After falling 11-7 to Hope Mills on Sunday, KLC bounced back Monday morning with a dominant 15-6 win over Moore County in an elimination game. Charley Sumner, Vayda Graham, Jessa Adesso, Adilynn Garner, and Alice Lewis each delivered key RBIs. Garner got the start in the circle, and Aniyah Porter closed it out to keep the All-Stars alive.

Kinston/Lenoir County returns to action Monday at 5 p.m. A win would advance them to the championship round. If KLC wins two more games, they’ll be crowned state champions and represent North Carolina in the Dixie Angels World Series later this month.
