In a strong start to the season, the Arendell Parrott Academy soccer team secured victory in the 2023 Cougar Classic, defeating Wake Christian 5-3 and High Point Christian Academy 5-1.
Match 1: Victory Over Wake Christian
Asher Lowry scored all five goals, with assists from Connor Woelfel (2) and Quinn Miller. Drew Cox recorded eight saves.
Match 2: Triumph in the Cougar Classic
The team defeated High Point Christian Academy 5-1 with goals from Asher Lowry (2), Connor Woelfel, Everette Haddad, and Quinn Miller. Assists were provided by Asher Lowry (3) and Connor Woelfel. Drew Cox had seven saves.
Coach Piner's Insight
Coach Henry Piner praised the team's performance: "I'm extremely proud of the way these guys handled business. This team understood how important it was to get these two wins to jumpstart our season. We've got a long season ahead and there are tactical areas where we need to get better; however, these guys executed well today."

The next match will be on Tuesday, August 22, against St. David's School. The team will look to continue their winning streak and address areas identified for improvement by Coach Piner.
