South Lenoir’s Christian Wooten has been a spark for the Blue Devils this fall, making plays with both his arm and his legs.
In last week’s 46-6 win over Spring Creek, Wooten turned in his best performance yet. The junior quarterback completed 3-of-6 passes for 17 yards and a touchdown, while also rushing six times for 158 yards and a score. His highlight came on a 79-yard touchdown run that put the exclamation mark on the Blue Devils’ victory.
The win pushed South Lenoir to 3-1 on the season, marking the program’s best start since 2016.
For the year, Wooten has completed 7 of 16 passes for 40 yards, 1 touchdown and 0 interceptions, while proving just as dangerous on the ground with 29 rushes for 315 yards and 2 scores. His dual-threat ability has given South Lenoir a consistent offensive weapon and a reason for optimism as conference play looms.
