Male Athlete of the Week: Justin Gooding (Kinston Football)

Kinston’s defense set the tone in a commanding 42-7 win over North Lenoir, and cornerback Justin Gooding was at the center of it.

Gooding hauled in two interceptions and completely shut down the Hawks’ passing game. With him locking down his side of the field, North Lenoir finished with zero passing yards for the night.

The Vikings improved to 2-1 on the season behind the dominant defensive showing, and Gooding’s play stood out as a major factor. His ability to disrupt the aerial attack and create turnovers helped Kinston control the game from start to finish.
