North Lenoir outlasts Greene Central 15-12, extends win streak in series

North Lenoir scored early and often Tuesday, defeating Greene Central 15-12 in a high-scoring matchup.

The Hawks collected 14 hits and scored in four different innings, including a seven-run second inning that helped create early separation.

Allie Reaves led the offensive effort, finishing 3-for-4 with five RBIs, including two triples and a double.
Lakyn Whitley added four hits and two RBIs, while Lexi Stalnaker, Gracie Peele, Haley Hemby, and Hallie Fowlereach contributed hits.

North Lenoir finished with 15 runs on 14 hits and committed no errors.

Greene Central showed patience at the plate, drawing 19 walks, but managed only five hits in the game. Anna Grace Tillman went 1-for-2 with an RBI, while Drew Wells and Alyssa Wooten each scored twice.

Tillman pitched the complete game for the Rams, allowing 14 hits and 15 runs (12 earned) with three strikeouts.

Hallie Fowler started in the circle for North Lenoir, pitching three innings with four strikeouts before the Hawks used multiple pitchers to finish the game.

With the win, North Lenoir improved to 1-1 on the season, while Greene Central moved to 2-1.

North Lenoir will host South Lenoir on March 10, while Greene Central travels to face J.H. Rose on March 10.

The victory also continues North Lenoir’s success in the rivalry, as the Hawks have won seven straight games against Greene Central and hold a 17-9 record in the series since 2010.
