Rams survived Scary 7th Inning to Extend Win Streak to 10 Games

The Greene Central Rams extended their impressive win streak to ten games after securing a hard-fought 6-4 victory over Voyager High (11-3) on Monday. The Rams held off a late comeback attempt by the Vikings, who scored four runs in the seventh inning.

In the second inning, Noah Uzzell sparked the Rams' offense with a single on a 1-0 count, driving in two runs. They continued to build their lead, adding three more runs in the third inning, with Uzzell contributing an RBI double.

"We had a good offensive effort throughout the whole lineup. Need to step up and get the two out hit to put the game away,” said Coach Ben Brann of Greene Central. "We had a great pitching performance from Leland. He hasn’t been on the mound a ton this year, but he battled and gave us a great outing.”

Leland Barrow's solid pitching performance proved crucial for the Rams. Barrow threw six and a third innings, allowing only two runs on two hits while striking out five. Braden Burress stepped in to pitch the final two-thirds of the seventh, providing relief from the bullpen.

"I was dealing man, I felt good. Everyone I had asked about the team we played said they were tough, so I just went into that game knowing I had to be efficient and throw strikes," said Leland Barrow of Greene Central.

Throughout the game, the Greene Central Rams showcased their strong batting skills, accumulating 11 hits. Brady Anderson, Leland Barrow, Wilkes Thomas, and Noah Uzzell led the Rams with two hits each.
