South Lenoir Sweeps North Lenoir in Softball, Baseball, and Soccer
South Lenoir enjoyed a strong night across several programs Tuesday, highlighted by a rivalry win over North Lenoir in girls soccer and victories on the diamond as well.
The South Lenoir girls soccer team defeated North Lenoir 4-0, snapping a two-game skid and improving to 2-2 on the season. The loss drops North Lenoir to 2-2. South Lenoir controlled the match from the start and kept the Hawks off the scoreboard while building a comfortable lead.
In boys soccer, South Lenoir also continued its early-season momentum, improving to 2-0, while North Lenoir fell to 1-3. The Hawks’ overall soccer program record now sits at 2-3.
South Lenoir also found success on the baseball and softball fields during the rivalry matchup.
On the baseball side, the Blue Devils defeated North Lenoir 10-1. South Lenoir scored six runs in the second inning to take control early. Austin Clements earned the win on the mound, allowing three hits and one run over five innings while striking out five.
For North Lenoir, Bryce Arnette and Cristian Veal each recorded two hits, while James Peay drove in the Hawks’ lone run.
South Lenoir’s softball team also earned a win, defeating North Lenoir 15-3. The Blue Devils collected 13 hits in the game, with Rylan Wade leading the way with five RBIs in a 3-for-4 performance. North Lenoir was led offensively by Lakyn Whitley and Hallie Fowler, who each had two hits.
The strong night across multiple sports highlighted South Lenoir’s depth while continuing the competitive rivalry between the two Lenoir County schools.
