Day one of the 5th Annual FCA Women’s Winter Classic featured defensive battles, balanced scoring, and outstanding performances led by North Duplin Abby Rose’s 22-point night, as Greene Central, Farmville Central, and unbeaten Kinston advanced into Monday’s winner’s bracket action.
"Girls in Kinston that play basketball don't get as many chances as boys and we get overlooked. I want to be the person that can give girls that opportunity," Kelly said.
The event, free to all ages, is scheduled for August 24 from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m., with registration beginning at 11:30 a.m. at Kinston High School.
