Austin Brock pitches the Rams past the Warriors

GOLDSBORO, NC - The Greene Central Rams continued their winning ways as they soundly defeated the Eastern Wayne Warriors 12-2 on Tuesday, improving their record to 2-2 on the season.

The Rams started off strong, with Leland Barrow's single in the first inning scoring one run. They kept going strong into the third inning, when Wilkes Thomas's single, Will Radford's groundout, and an error by Eastern Wayne helped them score four more runs.

Austin Brock picked up the win for the Rams, allowing only one hit and one run over three innings while striking out one and walking one. Lucas Ellis, Braden Burress, and Austin Hardy all pitched in relief, helping to secure the victory for their team.

"Austin threw the ball well and pounded the zone," Rams coach Ben Brann said. "He was very efficent with his pitches today."

The Rams' offense was firing on all cylinders, with Burress and Thomas leading the way with two hits apiece. Burress also had an impressive five stolen bases. In total, Greene Central had nine hits on the day.

Despite starting the season with a convincing win over Eastern Wayne, the Rams then suffered two consecutive losses to Hunt and North Lenoir. However, Tuesday's victory proves that the team was ready to bounce back from those losses.

"They came out energetic and ready to play." Brann said.

The Greene Central Varsity Rams will look to continue their winning ways when they travel to Wilson Hunt tomorrow.
