Contentnea Savannah softball delivered one of its most memorable performances of the season, rallying from a five-run deficit to defeat Woodington 9-8 in a thrilling finish.

The game, originally paused in the third inning after an umpire passed out, resumed with CSS trailing 6-1. When play picked back up, the momentum quickly shifted.

CSS erupted for five runs in the fourth inning to tie the game before adding three more in the fifth to complete the comeback and secure the win.

“We've worked incredibly hard all season and the girls took to the field knowing we were down by 5 and needed those runs,” head coach Katelynn Daughety said. “Our girls demonstrated remarkable determination and played with heart and brought home the win and we are so proud of them — they are a truly exceptional group of softball loving girls.”

CSS finished with nine runs, taking advantage of key moments and timely execution. Woodington totaled eight runs on nine hits in the loss.

Allena Ransom contributed both in the circle and at the plate, recording five strikeouts across the doubleheader. Scarlett Nobles added a highlight moment later in the day with an in-the-park home run, while Chloe Harris stood out with her consistency at the plate and leadership behind it.

In the second game of the doubleheader, Woodington pulled away for a 16-10 win. CSS continued to compete offensively, highlighted by Chloe Harris, who hit the first two home runs of her career and consistently reached base. The team also showed resilience, putting together multiple scoring innings despite the loss.

The performance reflected a complete team effort from Contentnea Savannah, with contributions throughout the lineup, including Allena Ransom, Scarlett Nobles, Peyton Sowers, Lauren Harris, Chloe Harris, Isabella Hall, Lauryn Price, Kayden Warren, Joya Ham, Currie Glass, Alena Stanley, and Genetta Pridgen.

With the split, CSS now sits at 3-3 in conference play, building momentum behind a hard-fought comeback victory.
