Frink Cavaliers Stay Perfect in Conference Play, Move to 6-3 Overall
Information submitted by John Yates
Frink Middle School continues to roll through conference play, improving to 5-0 with a pair of dominant wins this week, including a statement victory over CSS at North Lenoir.
The Cavaliers opened the week with a 7-0 shutout of Rochelle at Barnet Park. Scoring was balanced across the board, with seven different players finding the net—Josh Lagunas, Isaac Cordova, Parker Southerland, Alex Perez, Jeremy Cogdell, Collin Romig, and Beck Muskus each recorded a goal. The win pushed Frink to 4-0 in conference play at the time.
Frink followed that performance with a 9-1 victory over CSS on Wednesday, but the match didn’t start in their favor. CSS struck first before the Cavaliers responded late in the first half with three goals to take a 3-1 lead into the break.
From there, Frink took complete control.
The Cavaliers poured in six second-half goals, showcasing their depth and offensive firepower. Sammy Ramirez and Irvin Rodgers led the way with hat tricks, while Camden Tyndall and Alexis Castro-Ortiz each added a goal. An own goal by CSS—off a Samuel Ramirez shot—rounded out the scoring.
Frink now sits at 6-3 overall and remains unbeaten in conference play.
The Cavaliers will have a chance to cap off their run next Thursday when they travel to Woodington for a 4 p.m. matchup with the Raiders, with the conference championship on the line.
