Woodington continued its strong stretch Thursday, holding off Arendell Parrott Academy for a 9-6 win at home to extend its winning streak to three games.

Now 8-3 on the season, Woodington has flipped momentum after a brief skid and is starting to find consistency on both sides of the ball.

The Raiders wasted little time getting on the board in the first inning. Axel Ard singled to center field to spark the offense, and Woodington added another run on a wild pitch to take an early 2-0 lead.

They created separation in the third.

Jackson Taylor and Daelin Tyndall delivered back-to-back RBI singles, while Landen Coples and Owen Houston each drove in runs on groundouts as Woodington pushed four more runs across to stretch the lead.

Arendell Parrott, which entered the game 9-6, didn’t go away quietly. The Patriots chipped away throughout the middle innings and made things interesting late, but Woodington did enough to maintain control.

Ethan Hoover provided a spark at the top of the lineup, finishing with two hits and three runs scored while also swiping two bases. Ard added two hits of his own, and Coples drove in a team-high two runs.

Woodington finished with eight hits and showed timely execution, manufacturing runs with situational hitting and pressure on the bases.

On the mound, Winston Faircloth got the start and set the tone early, allowing one run over two and two-thirds innings while striking out two. Ard and Coples followed in relief to help secure the win.

Arendell Parrott matched Woodington with eight hits, led by Alex Goldstein and Wade Alphin, who each collected two. The Patriots also showed patience at the plate with eight walks, but Woodington limited the damage in key moments.

The win carries added significance for the Raiders, who earlier in the season dropped a 4-1 game to Frink. With Frink up next, Woodington will look to carry its current momentum into a chance at redemption.
