Greene Central’s JV boys basketball team continues to separate itself at the top of the conference standings, improving its position with a 64–20 win over Beddingfield in its most recent outing.

Now 18 games into the season, Greene Central sits No. 1 in conference play, ahead of Farmville Central, Kinston, Ayden-Grifton, Tarboro, and Beddingfield. The Rams have combined consistent defense with balanced scoring throughout league play, controlling games on both ends of the floor.

Through 18 games, Greene Central is averaging 59.2 points per game while allowing just 49.2, a margin that has shown up repeatedly in conference matchups.

Sophomore Kam Tyson leads the team offensively at 15.6 points per game, while Motorro May, Treylan Eatmon, and Javionta Worthington have provided steady production alongside him. Greene Central’s depth has also been a factor, with contributions coming from multiple underclassmen each night.

Last Game Recap: Greene Central 64, Beddingfield 20

Greene Central set the tone early against Beddingfield and never let up, holding the Bruins to 20 points while forcing turnovers and dominating the paint.

The Rams shot 42 percent from the field (30-of-72) and piled up 29 steals as a team, overwhelming Beddingfield with defensive pressure.

Freshman Javionta Worthington led Greene Central with 14 points on 7-of-9 shooting, adding four assists and five steals. Sophomore Treylan Eatmon followed with 13 points, shooting 6-of-10 from the floor, while Kam Tysonchipped in 10 points, three assists, and five steals.

Motorro May finished with eight points, eight rebounds, four steals, and three blocks, contributing across the stat sheet. Kwame Hall added four points, and Elijah Barnes scored four points while pulling down three rebounds.

Greene Central controlled the glass with 34 total rebounds and committed just 12 turnovers, keeping Beddingfield from generating any sustained offense.
