Coaches and Players Speak

"I think the girls played really well, they were able to capitalize when they needed to capitalize, each time they use effectively they came back together, and they were able to see spots where they needed to make changes to fix errors," said Coach Lahr.

"I am proud of every single girl on this team, they are on this team for a reason, they come in cold and can come in and make some really great decisions in hot moments on the court," added Coach Lahr, speaking about players like Maribel Gonzalez.

"Donley, she is a standout, it is hard to believe she is a sophomore. She plays incredibly well, she's a leader on the team, there is a reason she is a captain, she constantly makes changes, she brings our team together and she's a stellar hitter," Coach Lahr said about Donley Phillips.

"It is easy to get nervous but I really wasn't nervous because I knew our team were going to work together and pull together for the win," said Phillips.

"I think we work really well together by utilizing what we are good at, if we know we are good at something we keep doing that and seeing the open spots on the court," Phillips added.

Looking Ahead

Greene Central will host conference opponent Ayden Grafton next Tuesday, September 5th. Their only loss this season came against North Lenoir last week.
