Kinston-Lenoir County Sports Hall of Fame Announces 2025 Induction Class

KINSTON, N.C. — The Kinston-Lenoir County Sports Hall of Fame, established in 2004 to honor outstanding athletic achievements across the county, has announced its Class of 2025 — a group that reflects the deep tradition and pride of Lenoir County athletics.

This year’s inductees are Tony Dawson, Eddie Gwaltney, Tracy Hart, Dee Dee Jarman, Norman Joyner, Cam McRae, Cliff Whitfield, and the 1967 Grainger High School State Championship Baseball Team.

These honorees represent every corner of Lenoir County and a wide range of sports, having made their mark on fields, courts, tracks, and pools. Each has left a unique footprint and embodies the diversity and heritage that define the county’s athletic history.

The induction ceremony will be held Thursday, August 15 at 6:00 p.m., and promises to be a night of celebration, reflection, and community pride.
