Lancers Crush Wake Tech, Storm into Postseason

Lenoir Community College's baseball team sent a resounding message in their 12-4 triumph over Wake Tech Community College, cementing their status as serious contenders in this year's postseason.

The Lancers, coming into the postseason play with a 31-15 record, secured first place in the conference for the regular season and earned the number one seed in the tournament. Their recent winning streak of 16 out of the last 21 games proves that they are a force to be reckoned with. Wake Tech Community College entered the game with a 17-27 record and held the #4 seed in the tournament

LCC's coach Gary Smith praised the team's performance, saying, "Guys just kept grinding and competing. The bottom of the order had really good nights at the plate. Thompson being able to get deep in the game helped save some of our bullpen arms."

Star shortstop and leadoff hitter Kevin Jones, a UNC-Wilmington commit, went 2-4 at the plate and humbly reflected on his performance: "I thought my performance was good, I just tried to do what I had to do to help my team."

Looking ahead to the next round, Jones passionately expressed the team's determination: "We are more focused than ever. We really want this. We're ready for round 2, and we'll continue being the energetic team we are."

The Lancers' victory means they will face Pitt CC at 7 p.m. at Big Rock Stadium in Morehead City in the second round of the Region 10 Sports Tournament. The tournament is from May 4th to 8th. It's a double-elimination tournament.
