LCC to host seventh annual Jessica Ramsey Memorial Volleyball Tournament

Lenoir Community College will host the seventh annual Jessica Ramsey Memorial Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, Aug. 1.

The preseason scrimmage tournament will feature eight high school teams: Perquimans, Havelock, South Lenoir, Rosewood, West Craven, Goldsboro, West Carteret and John Paul II.

Doors will open at 8 a.m., with pool play beginning at 9 a.m. The semifinals are scheduled for 3:30 p.m., followed by the championship match at 4:30 p.m.

Admission is $7, while children ages 10 and younger will be admitted free. Concessions and tournament T-shirts will also be available.

Proceeds will benefit the Jessica Ramsey Memorial Scholarship, established in honor of the former South Lenoir volleyball player who died at a young age.

The tournament will be held at Lenoir Community College, located at 231 N.C. Highway 58 South in Kinston.
