Rochelle Middle School Girls Basketball Completes Perfect 9–0 Season

Rochelle Middle School’s girls basketball team didn’t just win this season — they set a standard.

Behind a unified locker room, disciplined play, and a relentless competitive edge, the Lady Eagles rolled through the 2025 season undefeated, finishing 9–0 and leaving little doubt about who set the tone every night they stepped on the floor.

For head coach Tisha Dixon, the perfect record was the result of a team that bought in early and never let go.

“My support from my assistant, Monique Lofton, played a huge role, along with the team coming together as a unit,” Dixon said. “With that, I believe this team went undefeated because of their will to win. They locked in early and committed to the little things that set the foundation of the game.”

That foundation showed itself in every possession. Rochelle consistently outworked opponents, defended with purpose, and stayed connected regardless of score or circumstance.

“Their grit, discipline, and drive to compete until the very end, regardless of circumstances that separated them,” Dixon said. “As I always say, play hard, play smart, play together, and they did exactly that every single game.”

While the wins piled up, Dixon said the most rewarding part of the season had nothing to do with the final scores.

“I’m very proud of this team,” she said. “As a coach, being able to witness their growth from the beginning of the season to now has been rewarding. Some of these players I’ve coached since sixth grade, and seeing how much they’ve grown, not just as athletes, but as leaders, means a lot to me.”

That growth showed in how the team handled challenges and leaned on one another.

“This team had many different skill sets, and watching them come together as one unit, understanding that we’re only as strong as our weakest link, was truly an honor to witness.”

Dixon has coached several successful groups, but she says this team separated itself through its actions, not words.

“Every team I’ve coached has been special in its own way,” she said. “What made this team different was that their actions spoke louder than their words. Their hustle, effort, love for the game, and passion truly stood out.”

Even when situations became uncomfortable or unfamiliar, the response stayed the same.

“Even in moments when they didn’t fully understand certain parts of the game, their willingness to adjust, push through, and compete never wavered.”

That mindset helped Rochelle navigate the season without a blemish — together, focused, and fully committed.
