Greene Central (B+)

The Rams have handled their business in all of the games they were supposed to win. The Rams are 8-3 so far, with two losses to Hunt (6-4) and a loss to the Hawks of North Lenoir (5-2). Greene Central is currently the front-runner in the Eastern Plains 2A, and the Rams are 5-0, while West Craven (3-1) is right behind them.

Jones SR (C)

Jones Senior started out hot, going 3-1 in the season's first four games. The Trojans have since lost four games in a row falling to 3-5 on the season.  Jones is currently in fourth place in the Coastal Plains 1A/2A conference. First place will be tough to reach, with Northside- Pinetown (9-1) looking like one of the best ball clubs in the state.

APA (B)

The Patriots have shined bright in many games so far this season. The lineup is deep, and the rotation can be filthy. APA (8-4) is currently second in the NCISAA Coastal Plain conference. Right now the Patriots are in second place behind Wayne Country Day in the conference standings.

Bethel (C+)

Bethel is a younger squad, only having one senior. The Trojans have turned a corner this past week, winning three straight games to push them to 4-2 on the season. Bethel is tied for first place in the NCCSA AA District 4 - East Region, with Wilmington Christian Academy (4-7).

Kinston (D)

Kinston (0-8) has not had many positives this year other than Ex'Zavion Croom. Croom is a freshman catcher for the Viking. Kinston has been run ruled in every game so far this season. The Vikings are dead last in the East Central 2A conference.

South Lenoir (B+)

South Lenoir (5-3) started out 2-2 before conference play began. The two losses came from Southern Wayne (8-1) and North Dupin (8-2) both are really good teams. The Blue Devils are in third place in the East Central 2A conference. It's going to be a battle if the Blue Devils want to climb to first place but it's not impossible. Huge game for South Lenoir this Friday against crosstown rivals and conference opponent North Lenoir (5-2)  The Blue Devils are currently 5-3 on the year with the third loss to SouthWest Onlslow (8-1).

North Lenoir (A-)

The Hawks have looked like the best team in the Neuse News area. North Lenoir is 6-2 on the season. The two losses have come from Southern Wayne (8-1) and East Duplin (9-1),who is the front runner in the East Central 2A conference The Hawks still have a good shot to win the conference but they cant have any slip ups and still have to beat East Duplin. North Lenoir has a must-win game this Friday against crosstown rivals and conference opponent South Lenoir (5-3).
