South Lenoir to honor Coach Troy Eason with baseball field dedication

DEEP RUN — South Lenoir High School will honor one of its most influential figures later this month, announcing plans to officially name and dedicate its baseball field in memory of longtime coach and educator Troy Eason.

The ceremony is scheduled for Friday, April 17, at approximately 7 p.m., taking place between the junior varsity and varsity baseball games.

Eason, remembered as a devoted mentor and leader, left a lasting imprint on generations of student-athletes and the broader South Lenoir community. The field dedication serves as a tribute to his years of service and the relationships he built throughout his career.

The school is inviting family members, friends, former players, and community supporters to attend the ceremony and celebrate Eason’s legacy.

In addition to the dedication, former players will have an opportunity to contribute to a special keepsake for Eason’s family. From April 13–16, alumni are encouraged to visit South Lenoir High School between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to sign a commemorative memento.
