Woodington rolls past Jones Middle, improves to 3-0

Woodington Middle School continued its strong start to the season with a dominant 13-0 win over Jones Middle, moving to 3-0 on the year.

The Raiders have now outscored their opponents 30-5 through three games, including a 13-2 win over Jones Middle earlier in the season and a 4-3 victory over A.G. Cox.

Woodington set the tone early behind a sharp pitching performance. Winston Faircloth earned the win, tossing two hitless innings while striking out five. Cole Johnson followed with three innings of relief, allowing just two hits and no runs while striking out five.

At the plate, the Raiders produced consistently throughout the lineup.

Landon Coples led the way, going 3-for-4 with an RBI. Daelin Tyndall finished 1-for-2 with a double, a walk, and two RBIs, while Owen Houston added two RBIs on a 1-for-4 performance. Cole Johnson contributed a double in his lone at-bat.

Ethan Hoover reached base three times via walks and scored three runs, helping fuel the offensive surge. Axel Ard also added a hit, going 1-for-3.

Woodington will look to keep its momentum going with a busy stretch ahead, hosting the CSS Cougars on Monday, March 23, before traveling to face Rosewood on March 24.
