NNS GAMEDAY RETURNS FOR SEASON 3 WITH NEW CO-HOST VINSTON THORPE
NNS GameDay presented by Bojangles is back for its third season.
Returning as host for the third straight year is Trey Scott, leader of Neuse News Sports and one of the most respected voices in high school sports across the state. In addition to leading NNS, Scott also contributes to NCPreps on the On3 network and Pirate Pulse, where his in-depth coverage of North Carolina athletics reaches audiences across the state and beyond.
This season, he’s joined by new co-host Vinston Thorpe, an assistant coach at Kinston High School, who brings years of on-field experience and football expertise to the table.
A graduate of E.E. Smith High School and former player at UNC Pembroke, Thorpe has spent the last eight years coaching at the high school level. He’s served as a JV head coach, offensive coordinator, and offensive line coach, helping develop multiple athletes now playing at the collegiate level.
“Look, we’re just two guys that know football, talking football,” Scott said. “It’s going to be honest, it’s going to be fun, and it’s going to be full of insight you don’t get anywhere else.”
Addressing the Sideline and Studio
As host, Trey will take the lead on bringing energy, excitement, and knowledge to the show. As a current coach, Vinston will use his years on the sideline to provide in-depth analysis unmatched in the area.
Season 3 will also bring a noticeable upgrade in production, with more polished visuals, sharper editing, and enhanced segment transitions. From intro packages to studio elements, the team is committed to making GameDay feel as professional as the coverage it delivers.
More Than Just a Two-Man Show
Also returning to the set is Chance Scott, who played a lead role during the Pirate Pulse baseball season and has been a key sideline presence for NNS over the past three years. Now, he’ll be on GameDay as a featured voice for weekly analysis, including the Most Important Player of the Week segment.
Jayden Willis will continue his popular coach interviews with a recurring segment that offers exclusive sit-downs throughout the year with top names from across the region.
Each week, fans can also expect a GameDay Feature, spotlighting standout athletes, teams, or moments from the high school football scene.

NNS GameDay will air on Facebook at noon on Fridays during the regular season, beginning Friday, August 22. If our area teams make deep playoff runs, postseason episodes will follow.
