To celebrate the high school seniors who defy expectations in their sport, their studies, and their personal character, Neuse News Sports (NNS) is thrilled to announce the "Neuse News Sports Senior Standouts" program.
Kinston High School's Assistant Coach Fink is passionate about basketball - but not just about the sport as we know it in the United States. His passion spans across continents, leading him to coach basketball camps overseas in Lithuania and Croatia for the past three years
“It’s always great to come back and help. This is where I grew up and met great mentors that helped me,” Jerry Stackhouse said about the event.
Coach Matt Beaman proudly remarked on his team's commendable performance, saying, "The team held their composure and played seven games, making only five errors and outscoring their opponents 85-15."
Head coach Saint Paul Edwards could not hide his pride in the young players, stating, "I couldn’t be more proud of this group of young guys! They came and showed everyone what Greene County Baseball is all about. This group of guys really wanted to make up for their showing last year. They came back this year and proved to everyone of how good they can be."
"I told them we could do it but it wouldn’t be easy. I told them all the hard work would pay off, and they had to believe. I’m very proud of them; they earned it," commented a beaming Coach Patrick Cobb.
Get ready, Kinston! The big SJG Kinston/Lenoir County Sports Alumni Weekend is happening from July 14th to July 16th, 2023. This is a super fun three-day sports party! Hometown basketball hero, Jerry Stackhouse, will be there, along with many other famous sports stars.

The former and current players have given me everything I could ever hope for as a coach," Jackson Massey stated in his departure announcement. "With that being said, I have decided to step down and move my career in a different direction."
