Greene County Middle continued its strong start to the season Monday, defeating Frink Middle 6-0 to improve to 2-0 on the year. The matchup marked the season opener for the Cavaliers.

Kinston defeated Northwood 60-58 to advance to the 5th round (Regionals) at ECU Friday. The game was EXCITING!!!!!!!!!!!! Cam Fowler for Northwood played great but Genesis Wiggins stole the show!

South Lenoir junior Gavin Brock was named East Central 3A/4A Player of the Year and head coach Vance Wade earned Coach of the Year honors after leading the Blue Devils to their first conference championship since 2005 with a 15-8 season and 9-2 league record.
