Lenoir Community College punches postseason ticket behind explosive offense, resilient response to adversity

Lenoir Community College’s 2026 baseball season hasn’t followed a straight line. It’s been a climb, a stumble, and ultimately a response — one that now includes a postseason berth.

At 27-20 overall and 25-16 in conference play, the Lancers have secured their spot in the postseason, riding a late surge that reflects both the strength of their lineup and the lessons learned during a difficult midseason stretch. Lenoir also has one regular season game remaining before turning its full attention to postseason play.

The numbers tell part of the story. The rest is how they got there.

The Final Scores

South Lenoir softball split with East Duplin in a tightly contested series, Greene Central dominated Beddingfield across the board, and East Duplin baseball edged South Lenoir while North Lenoir fell to Havelock midweek.

NCHSAA Finalizes Dual Team Tennis Brackets

The NCHSAA finalized the men’s dual team tennis playoff brackets, with multiple local teams earning top-four seeds and first-round byes, including Greene Central (#2), Goldsboro (#4), North Lenoir (#4), and C.B. Aycock (#3). The playoffs begin Monday, with state championship matches set for May 15-16 at the Burlington Tennis Center.

Radford’s Big Night Powers Greene Central Past Farmville Central

Greene Central wasted no time building control. After Radford’s first-inning blast, the Rams erupted in the second inning with contributions across the lineup. Will Radford singled in a run, Riley Radford added two more with his double, Logan Burress drove in another, and Austin Oliver capped the inning with an RBI single.

On the mound, sophomore Sutton Harris continued his strong season. Harris earned the win, tossing three hitless innings with five strikeouts and one walk. The outing improved him to 5-1 on the year.
