Here is our Playoff schedule for this week for the first two rounds of the NCHSAA Boys/GIrls Playoffs

South Lenoir junior Gavin Brock was named East Central 3A/4A Player of the Year and head coach Vance Wade earned Coach of the Year honors after leading the Blue Devils to their first conference championship since 2005 with a 15-8 season and 9-2 league record.

Behind a scorching first half from Keyshawn Herring and a dominant second quarter, Kinston rolled past Greene Central 71-56 on the road, improving to 17-2 overall and 8-1 in conference play. The win keeps the Vikings right on the heels of unbeaten Farmville Central (9-0), with a share of the conference title hanging in the balance when the two meet Friday night.

Angel Lee placed second at the NCHSAA Girls Regional Championships at South Davidson High School, becoming the first female wrestler in North Lenoir history — and the first from Lenoir County — to qualify for the NCHSAA State Championships. The state tournament will be held Feb. 19–21 in Greensboro.

Lenoir Community College collected 12 hits behind multi-hit performances from Brennan Moran, Charlie Sindahl, Aiden Taylor and Cam Thompson, got two scoreless innings from starter Riley Williams, but defensive miscues and a late rally allowed Methodist JV to pull away in a 10–8 season-opening loss.

Greene County Middle School is headed to the Division 2 Pitt County Championship after a physical 45-30 win over Ayden in the opening round of the playoffs.

Greene Central struggled offensively without DJ Williams, shooting just 33 percent from the field in a 74-47 home loss to undefeated conference leader Farmville Central.

The Lady Rams edged conference rival Farmville Central 47-44 in a tight, intense battle, completing the season sweep and extending their winning streak to four games. The victory moves Greene Central to 13-7 overall and 6-1 in conference play — sitting just behind 7-0 Kinston in the standings.

Greene Central moved to 17-3 overall with a commanding 68-39 victory over Farmville Central, completing the season sweep after a 63-48 win in the first meeting. The Rams have now won eight straight games and remain undefeated at home (6-0) and perfect in conference play at 7-0.

North Lenoir picked up a key home conference win Tuesday night, edging North Pitt 71-65 in overtime in a game that was as frantic as it was entertaining.

North Lenoir girls basketball continued its late-season push on Tuesday night, picking up a 53-49 conference win over North Pitt to move to 9-12 overall on the season.
